Browse Media Preparation

If you do not have the original programme material in a suitable browse media format, we offer two solutions.

Immedia Encoder

An application for capturing from a real-time video source and create a browse resolution media file. The user can select to encode the file as MPEG, Windows Media or AVI and has an option to burn-in timecode extracted from the video input, or read directly via a dedicated timecode reader card (check with Starfish for recommended cards).

A timecode reference header file is also generated which is very useful in captioning, subtitling and audio description authoring applications.

Immedia Transcoder

A software only product for transcoding from broadcast quality MPEG or DV files to create a browse resolution media file. The user can select MPEG, Windows Media or AVI file formats and has the option to burn-in timecode extracted from the broadcast media file.

A timecode reference header file is also generated which is very useful in captioning, subtitling and audio description authoring applications.
